Ah the dear old Assembly in Kaapstad. This place is Steri Fan Central - note the dude with the home made Steri tee shirt (he pinched the pic off our blog)… Anika gave us this report from the scene:

“On my latest quest to stalk the most awesome bands in SA and give them an overdose of calcium, I gate crashed the Assembly (actually i phoned up politely and asked if I could come down). Those of you who were there probably had a frickin awesome night! Not to mention a babelas free morning seeing as Steri supplied the ultimate uber-cure at the door (note from lawyers: scientific evidence still pending on that claim). Young rawk bucks The Modes, New Holland and Thieve caused a dancefloor riot with their skinny-jeaned noise mongering. This enthusiastic Steri fan said it all:

“Dude, 3 of the coolest bands in South Africa, and free Steri Stumpie, I must be dreaming, this like, is, the best night of my life!”

Annabel made the bold claim of being the biggest Steri fan ever, so naturally we wanted to meet her face-to-face to see just how sterific she really is (yup that’s what we do for a living…).  She ain’t frontin - Annabel was bouncing around reception when I arrived but I managed to get her to stand still long enough to pose in her Bubblegum t-shirt.

Woord to jou moeder! We like to celebrate radness in all its many different incarnations and what could be more skillfully rad than the man Jack Parow. He’s been dropping the bomb behind the boerewors curtain for a while now and is going frickin thermonuclear as I type.

We caught up with him in the luxurious confines of his dressing room in the bosch to pay homage with some steri love. Yip - Jack is definitely cooler as ekke, maar ‘n chocolate Steri is nog steeds die beste!

So we’ve had songs (with music videos), adverts ,  cartoons and now Steri even has it’s very own uh poem…

We’re not sure how much we want to encourage this kind of thing but here it is (Johan Naude is the tortured literary genius behind this gem).

Long ago and far away,

There was a boy

Who had no joy.

He was not happy (always crappy),

Like a chewed up chappy.

Never satisfied,

Always cried,

Until he had a sip of… Steri Stumpie.

No more Humpty Dumpty!

No need to put this boy together

Because he was oh so happy forever.

The taste made him fly,

Joy in a bottle,

Puts the senses in full throttle!

Flavoured milk has a new guardian, humanity has a new friend.

By day Dominic is just another Capetonian Steri fan. By night she haunts the rooftops (in clingy green latex) ready to dispense Steri Justice.
